TourismCan (the “Platform”) is an initiative of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) designed to inform and engage Canadians, government officials, and stakeholders on the economic impact of tourism across Canada. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit or interact with TourismCan.ca or any affiliated digital tools operated by TIAC.

TIAC is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit or interact with TourismCan. All data collected through TourismCan is stored securely on servers located in Canada wherever possible. For example, Zoho’s Canadian data centres in Toronto and Montreal are used to support data residency and compliance with Canadian privacy laws.
However, certain third-party services—such as web hosting and backups managed through GoDaddy—may store or process information on servers located outside of Canada. In such cases, data may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
TIAC requires all service providers supporting TourismCan to maintain strong privacy and security safeguards and to handle personal information only for authorized purposes, consistent with this Policy and applicable Canadian legislation.
